Kam Ghaffarian is known to ask a specific question: What’s your passion? And if he likes the answer — even if it’s as bold as building a commercial space station — he just might provide a financial and motivational oomph.
“For me even, it was so bold. It was like, wow, we’re going to go build the first private commercial space station,” Ghaffarian said. “But then I said, ‘Let’s go do it.’ Because I believe in doing bold, courageous stuff.”
His simple question has led to the creation of two ambitious Houston companies. Axiom Space is developing the commercial space station, and Intuitive Machines is building a lunar lander.
